In keeping with its youth-oriented marketing strategy, Virgin Mobile has signed on Ranbir Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza to endorse its GSM services across India.

The telecom player, who captured the audience with their innovative ad campaign when it launched its CDMA services, launched its GSM services in South India recently and plans to go national with this service later this month.

We would be launching the GSM service in a phased manner across our circles. Two weeks ago, we launched our service in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. We also launched these services in Orissa,” said an official at Virgin Mobile on condition of anonymity.

The official revealed that the company would be using above the line media such as radio, outdoor, TV, print and the Internet to market its new service. “The ads would feature our new brand ambassadors Genelia D’souza and Ranbir Kapoor,” the official said adding that below the line activities to market the GSM service would include ground activity and retailing.

“The TVCs, print and radio campaigns for our services would be released along with the launch of our service in each circle,” the official revealed adding that Mumbai would be getting Virgin Mobile’s GSM service by the end of February.
